INDUSTRY TALK “DEMYSTIFYING DISTRIBUTION ONCE AND FOR ALL”

English flag

You’ve got the idea. You’ve got the drive. Now let’s talk reality. Depending on your location on the continent, the production chain is sometimes broken, and creators are forced to wear many hats: artist, producer, marketer, distributor. Self-distribution is no longer a choice; it’s a necessity but also a space for invention and emancipation. This talk explores the tools, tactics and ecosystems that today allow creatives to circulate their work outside traditional channels. But this is not about selling a dream. Because self-distribution also means carrying alone a big part of the mental, financial and strategic load. Between empowerment and burnout, freedom and precarity, this session offers a space for real talk. A chance to understand how African artists are producing, distributing, and sometimes reinventing themselves.
