MORNING TALK WITH NELLY WANDJI “MADE IN AFRICA : HOW BRANDS TRANSFORM CULTURAL HERITAGE INTO WEALTH”

Français flagEnglish flag

In this morning talk, Nelly Wandji Sr brand strategist, entrepreneur and founder of MoonLook, will present the initial results of a study conducted among 1,200 consumers and nearly 100 creators, brands, and experts based on the continent and the diaspora.

The research is an independent initiative dedicated to African creative industries, focusing on key transformational sectors: fashion, contemporary crafts, design, beauty, and lifestyle.

It is based on the observation that despite their immense wealth of talent, ideas, and heritage, African creative industries remain hampered by informality, fragmentation, and a lack of structured support.

Guided by research and data, this initiative aims to identify key success factors specific to the African context and design a strategic roadmap to strengthen the competitiveness and sustainability of these industries. This approach is structured around two pillars:

Consumers: Understanding the circulation of African products on the continent and internationally.
Creative entrepreneurs: identifying the essential levers for their growth and sustainable influence on African identities.
