

Award-winning Matte Painter and Concept Artist Yvonne Muinde has built an accomplished career spanning over 20 years, contributing to numerous high-profile films. Yvonne is a professional artist and renowned visual effects artist in the film industry, with an impressive portfolio that includes The Hobbit, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar, and more. She has played a pivotal role in crafting several iconic and unforgettable scenes.
From 2009 to 2018, Yvonne excelled as a Matte Painting HOD and Supervisor at Weta Digital and Scanline VFX. Leading teams of matte painters, concept artists, and environment artists, she collaborated closely with multiple departments to bring stunning visuals to life. Her leadership ensured the creation of seamless, high-quality artwork and immersive, believable environments.
Before transitioning into visual effects, Yvonne honed her artistic skills as a fine artist and muralist. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and collections worldwide, and she was commissioned to create a mural installation for the Blair-Caldwell African American Library in Denver, Colorado. As the creative art director and founder of Ikweta Arts, Yvonne continues to push her creative boundaries.
